Foreigners with a service passport, special passport or other special travel documents allowing visa-free entry into Norway will usually no longer be granted support for assisted return or to return home.
This change applies for anyone applying for protection in Norway after 15 March 2025. This is especially relevant for Turkish nationals, who have generally had this type of documentation.
