Summary

This EMN study provides an overview of the legislation and practice of detention of third country nationals and its alternatives for the purpose of immigration control in Norway.

The national contribution is based on desk analysis of existing legislation and policy documents, reports, academic literature, internet resources and reports as well as information collected from national authorities.

Statistics were sourced from national authorities and other (national) databases.
